Week 4 - Blocking Fix...
Last week, group Bravo had to present a week of their blogpost, in which I had to present mine. I was told that, although the idea is good, I had a little too many poses in the blocking phase, so I worked on getting key poses only (there may or may not be an excessive amount still...) so that when I go to spline, it won't look too choppy and or finicky.
I also went in to put more detail and expression into the hands so that they aren't all one repeating position. I like the end result, although it is a little out of my comfort zone to block with little amount of blocking poses (which should be kept to a minimum normally), I will need to visualize and plan out the in-betweens so that the splining will go smoothly.
Since this week I only made time to straighten out my key poses, I would like to discuss further plans with the animation. I wanted to do a close-up sort of key pose where he whispers to the audience after he says "foot", however if I recall correctly, it's not too entirely good of a plan to have the speaker stare straight into the camera on demo reel animations, so I'll keep that idea for another day. Disregarding this, I plan on having the camera pan with the demon, as well as adding a few cuts as splining goes underway.
A classmate of mine recommended me use another character to show who the demon is talking to, and or have them kneel down towards the speaker as the speaker is a child. I will definitely take this into consideration, knowing that most of my poses involve miniscule kneeling...
However, I will try my best to catch up a bit on what I'm working on so I can get started on another project I've been thinking about lately.
